As we can see, the Obsidian 250D a cube enclosure of some sort, as it is almost as wide as it is high. The first thing to notice was how much it resembles the other cabinets in the Obsidian series. At the top, where we know most cabinets finds ventilation, I find the 250D a lighter tinted window, where you can look down into its components. Each page consists of a large area of ventilation, each with a magnetic dust filter mounted. One side provides air to the graphics card, while the opposite is room to fit a 240mm radiator. The front look like other Obsidian enclosures made of aluminum and has an extremely stylish look. The front panel consists of the right side of the two USB 3.0 ports and audio in /out, whereas on the left side are power, reset and LEDs. The front can be easily clicked on and the same can dust filter behind. A 140mm fan mounted up here, while maximum supported one 200mm fan.

The rear end features a rather unusual layout, where we find the power supply at the bottom and a little door where the hard drives to be mounted. More on this later above, we find the hole to the motherboard I / O panel, and two expansion card slots. At the top, the Corsair made it possible to install two 80mm fans. The base consists of the plastic feet that are also visible on the other Obsidian enclosures, all of which are coated with rubber. There is also a dust filter for the power supply here at the bottom.

Let us now take a look inside the 250D. When you have to enter the cabinet, remove the three panels: left, right and top, all of which are separate parts. Each side panel has referred a magnetic dust filter mounted. Here we see the platform where the motherboard to be mounted. 250D supports only mini-ITX motherboards. It is also possible to install a single 5.25 "drive in 250D, if you wish. To give more space inside the case, the holder can also be easily removed by loosening the four screws. On the right side, Corsair has managed to make room for a 240mm radiator such as H100i or something similar. The large 140mm fan in the front grille mounted on the inside, so there may cables come into the wings. Since there are so plenty of room in the front, you will without problems could mount a radiator up here. There are 29 centimeters free graphics card, which is enough for even high-end cards as R9 290X or GTX780Ti.

To install hard drives loosen the four thumbscrews, after which a small cover can be taken out of the back here hides four drawers, two of them are for SSD, and the two others either SSD or 3.5 "drives. No tools are required to install either SSD or 3.5 "discs. Only if you want to mount the SSD in 3.5", you must have screws and a screwdriver forward.

To mount the power supply is also a bit different in 250D. Here you must first unscrew a small frame of the cabinet, which has to be mounted on the power supply, with this psu can slide from back to inside the case.

Some shots while installing hardware in 250D. When using a modular power supply, there is no room problem for a radiator up here. If you wish to use air cooling, there is also enough room in height.

To conclude here is pic of the 250D with my one Hd7970 graphics card installed. As we can see, it has no problems with being in length.

Conclusion

Obsidian 250D is a mini-ITX enclosure in a class by itself and is up to mingle among the known cabinets in this segment. The impressive is that its Corsair's first case in this segment, and they still manage to hit the spot on in every respect.

If we start from the outside, Obsidian 250D looks like other newer cabinets in Obsidian Series the front of brushed aluminum, feet and the frame around the front is from the larger cabinets. The magnetic dust filters, which find in each side of the cabinet. Due to the internal structure, transparent window is at the top which makes it possible to look down on the motherboard.

Inside the cabinet Corsair has really thought about space, and they have like the 350D and 750D exploited all conceivable space fully. Beside we find the space for a full-size power supplies you can even throw an AX1200i in the small enclosure, if you would want. Thanks to the slightly wider design on Obsidian series that also supports a 240mm radiator on one side, where the opposite is room for 29 centimeters long graphics cards. If you use no optical drive, the holder of this by loosening a few screws, and you now have even more space to play on.

I must admit that, having 250D in the hands strongly considering a small LAN computer that really appeals to me.
